2023 March for Heroes
The 2023 March for Heroes marked a significant milestone as the inaugural event held in Perry, Ohio at Lakeshore Reservation. Participants had the option to undertake either a 22-mile or an 11-mile ruck, with the challenge of carrying specified weights, though this was optional. Those weighing 150 pounds or more were encouraged to carry 30 lbs., while those under 150 pounds carried 20 lbs.
A standout achievement of the event was Michael Romans' record-setting performance, completing the grueling 22-mile course in an impressive 6 hours, 9 minutes, and 25 seconds.
Beyond the physical challenge, the March for Heroes served a noble cause. All proceeds generated from the event were donated to the Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism, emphasizing a commitment to supporting local veterans and their families. This event not only promoted physical endurance but also unity in honoring and supporting those who have served their country.
